Five women killed as heap of clay caved in

Akola, March 13 (UNI) Five women of a family met with tragic end when a heap of white clay was caved in on them at village Malegaon under Jaulka police station bordering Washim district last evening.

According to police, the deceased belonged to one family and were identified as Savita Prashant Athwale (25), Gokula Ashok Athwale (16), Uma Devidas Athwale (22), Rupali Shivdas Athwale (13) and Ujwala Madan Athwale (35).

The women were busy in digging white clay from the heap when the mishap occured, police said.

White clay is an essential ingredient to plaster the house with cow dung.

Accidental deaths were registered and further investigation is on, police added.
