Farmers block roads; compensation for crop damage

Jaipur, Mar 13: Farmers in Bharatpur district are resorting to road blockades in at least ten different places today demanding compensation for the damage to their crops due to heavy rainfall yesterday.

According to police, farmers have blocked national highway passing through Bharatpur near Daira mode, four places under Chiksana police station and Uchain police station.

The police are trying to disperse the assembled farmers and open the road blockades and streamline the huge traffic.

Last night, many parts of Rajasthan including Jaipur, Barmer, Bharatpur and Dholpur districts received heavy rainfall and hailstorm. The hail measured at least 300 gm in Chomu near Jaipur.

Crops like wheat, mustard, gram, potato have been totally damaged.

The hailstorm killed many birds also.
