Dattatreya rules out revival of BJP-TDP electoral understanding

Guntur, Mar 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh state BJP President B Dattatreya has ruled out revival of BJP-TDP electoral understanding in the state.

Speaking to reporters here last night during the Andhra Pradesh Legislative council election campaign, he said TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu's efforts to form a non-BJP and non-Congress third political front in the country would strengthen the Congress government at the Centre.

He declared that BJP was only an alternative to the Congress at the national level.

The state BJP chief declared that the division of state of Andhra Pradesh and separate statehood for the Telangana region was inevitable.

Mr Dattatreya alleged that during the three year Congress rule in Andhra Pradesh, corruption was growing and in Cuddapah (home district of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy) land mafia was on the rampage.

Dr Reddy had lost control over the state administrative machinery, he observed.
