Barring one, all flights were cancelled yesterdau due to snowfall and poor visibility.

About a dozen flights are operating between Srinagar-Jammu and Delhi daily. However, due to snowfall and poor visibility all the flights have been cancelled.

Hundreds of passengers had to return back from the airport after cancellation of flights.

" We were issued boarding cards and after going through the security checks at the airport, we were told that flights had been cancelled due to snowfall," spokesman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference Aiyaz Akbar told UNI.

The Srinagar-Jammu national highway is already closed for traffic since yesterday due to heavy snowfall, landslides and shooting of stones at Penthal and about two to three feet of snowfall between Qazigund to Banihal.

Meanwhile, the tourism department had made arrangements for the stranded tourists from Mumbai and other states in south Kashmir.

Efforts are also being made to bring back a number of foreign tourists stranded on the highway.
