44,000 liters of Diesel High Flash seized in Mumbai

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Four people were arrested and two tankers illegally carrying 44,000 liters of Diesel High Flash (a petroleum product) worth Rs 8.80 lakh was seized near the Food Corporation of India (FCI) Godown, Sewri in south-central Mumbai.

Acting on a tip-off that the two tankers carrying Diesel High flash illegally were parked in a lonely place near FCI godowns at Sewri, the Detection Crime Branch (DCB) sleuths of Mumbai raided the place yesterday and seized two tankers--one carrying 20,000 litres of Diesel High Flash worth Rs Four lakh and another carrying 24,000 liters of the same material worth Rs 4.80 lakh, police today said.

The arrested persons have been identified as Santosh Suresh Singh (30), oil trader; Ramusingh Ramlakhan Singh (23), driver; Abdul Sayam Abu (22), cleaner and Harinder, alias Suhas Ram Dulas Jaiswal (32), also driver, police said.

All of them will be produced in court later today, police added.
