UBI to expand its network in UP

Allahabad, March 12 (UNI) The United Bank of India (UBI) is going to expand its network in Uttar Pradesh by opening new branches.

''Within this month, five new branches would be opened at Bulandshahr, Rampur, Bareilly, Hardoi and Lakhimpur Kheri,'' UBI chairman and managing director P K Gupta said while talking to mediapersons here.

''The UBI is also planning to open four more branches in UP by June, 2007. All the new branches would be on CBS platform and would have onsite ATM,'' Mr Gupta added.

He maintained during the period of 2007-2009, the UBI has proposed to open 18 more branches in the state. The bank will also convert five extension counters into full-fledged branches by this year.
