Rapist-murderer awarded death sentence in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 12 (UNI) A local court today awarded death sentence to a 29-year-old youth for sexually abusing and murdering a two-year-old girl at Pozhiyoor near here.

The Additional Sessions Court awarded the capital punishment to Sebastian, who was found guilty of sexually abusing and murdering the girl.

The prosecution submitted that Sebastian abducted the girl, who was sleeping beside her mother in their house and after sexually abusing the child, brutally suffocated her to death and later dumped the body in a canal at Pozhiyoor.

Sebastian was earlier sentenced to life imprisonment in a similar case in which he raped and killed a seven-year old girl at Poonthura near here.

Sebastian is also facing trial in another rape and muder case of a two year old girl at Valiyasala in the city.

UNI
