Coimbatore, Mar 12: Ramicides has launched 'Stop,' a mosquito repellant developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and used by the Indian Army, here.

Addressing a press conference last night, Company Chairman R Narasimhan said 'Stop' was based on pharma formulation -- DEPA (diethyl, phenyl, acciamide). This unique and effective aerosol spray had been used exclusively by the Indian Army so far.

Unlike other mosquito repellents, 'Stop' did not contain any harmful pesticides and helped protest poeple from vector-borne diseases like dengue, chikungunya, malaria and filariasis, he claimed.

Ramcides, an agro chemical manufacturing and marketing company, had been serving Indian farmers for over three decades and was planning to increase the turnover to Rs 700 crore from the present Rs 50 crore, he said.
