Rains, hailsotrm dip temp in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Mar 12 (UNI) Unseasonal rains in Rajasthan have dipped temperatures yet again, ushering in mild cold conditions.
Rainfall and hailstorm, which has been occurring over the last two days, is expected to stretch into this week.
Bikaner recorded the highest rainfall, mapping 13.5 mm today.
Sikar, Churu and Jhunjhunu witnessed hailstorm and heavy rain.
Intermittent rain and drizzle continued in the state capital from yesterday. The rainfall recorded was 12.8 mm. The sky was partly cloudy today with rains likely in the evening or night. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 14.8 degree Celsius.
According to weather department, the western disturbance has resulted in rain and hailstorms across the state.
Pilani recorded 11.8 mm rain, Churu 11.9, Jaisalmer 11, Dholpur 8, Bharatpur 7, Barmer 3.9, Ganganagar 4.7, Jodhpur 1.9 and Ajmer 1 mm.
Many other parts of the state witnessed drizzle.
Agricultural experts say the unseasonal rains and hailstorm have proved damaging for crops like wheat, gram and mustard.
According to met office, the temperature have dipped by two to three degree Celsius in many places.
Pilani remained the coldest in the state maping 12.8 degree Celsius. Ganganagar recorded 13.9, Udaipur 14.4, Dholpur 14, Bikaner 15.6, Ajmer and Churu 15.8, Bharatpur 15.7, Barmer 16.6, Jhalawar 18.6, Kota 18.9, Jodhpur 17.1 and Rawatbhata 22 degree Celsius.
The weather office predicts rains with thunder showers in northern and southern parts of the state over the next 24 hours.
