Noted Dentist gets Hony Rank of Brigadier

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) Noted dentist -- and President of the Dental Council of India and the Indian Endodontics Society -- Anil Kohli has been conferred the Honorary rank of Brigadier in the Armed Forces Dental Services, it was announced here today.

Dr Kohli -- a recipient of the 'Padma Bhushan' and 'Padma Shree' awards -- is Honorary Dental Surgeon to the President of India and Consultant to the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services, said an official spokesperson.

Eminent Civilian Doctors who have attained a very high reputation in the profession and who are willing to render their services -- consultations/advice -- free to the Armed Forces Medical Services are appointed as Honorary Consultants/Advisers to the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services.

Such persons are accorded Honorary rank in the Army, Navy or the Air Force by the President for rendering signal service of a high order to the Indian Armed Forces. The recipient is granted a rank befitting his status, position and age.

Dr Kohli has widely travelled across the globe and has published numerous research papers in prominent medical journals of the world.

Defence Secretary Shekhar Dutt has congratulated Dr Kohli on his being conferred the Honorary rank of Brigadier by the President.
