Shillong, Mar 12 (UNI) Five mass organisations in Meghalaya today decided to go ahead with their indefinite 'night curfew' in protest against the reinstatement of Mr D D Lapang as the Chief Minister of the state last week.

This decision was taken at a joint rally on Saturday called by Hynneiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) and supported by Ri-Bhoi Students' Union (RBSU), Khasi Jaintia War Association (KJWA), Garo Students Union (GSU) and Federation of Ri- War Mihngi at Motpran.

The 'night curfew' which starts from 1900 to 0500 hours will affect Tripura, Mizoram, Barak Valley of Asom and Manipur.

Meanwhile, police have made special arrangement to ensure that there was no obstruction of vehicle passing via Meghalaya to other states.

HNYF President G H Kharshanlor told UNI here today that they would go ahead with the 'night curfew' in protest against the frequent leadership changes by the AICC and reinstatement of Mr Lapang as Chief Minister.

On March 10, Congress leader D D Lapang was sworn-in for the third time as Meghalaya's Chief Minister after his predecessor J D Rymbai quit office as per the AICC directives.
