Srinagar, Mar 12 (UNI) All incoming and outgoing flights were today cancelled due to heavy snowfall in the Kashmir valley.

An official of the Srinagar airport said only one flight from Jammu arrived at 1100 hours when there was slight improvement in the visibility.

About a dozen flights are operating between Srinagar-Jammu and Delhi daily. However, due to snowfall and poor visibility all the flights have been cancelled.

Hundreds of passengers had to return back from the airport after cancellation of flights.

The Srinagar-Jammu national highway is already closed for traffic since yesterday due to heavy snowfall, landslides and shooting of stones.

Meanwhile, the tourism department had made arrangements for the stranded tourists from Mumbai and other states.

Efforts are also being made to bring back a number of foreign tourists stranded on the highway.
