Heavy snowfall in higher ranges of Uttarakhand
Dehradun, Mar 12 (UNI) Heavy snowfall occurred in the higher ranges of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri and Chamoli in Uttarakhand today.
Continuous rainfall has resulted in reducing the temperature of most of the places in the state including the state capital.
Director, Weather Department, Anand Sharma said the change in weather has been caused due to western disturbances.
The weather was likely to remain gloomy for two to three days, he said.
Kashauni and Joshimath experienced highest of 30 mm rainfall.
Dehradun recorded 13 mm rainfall, Tehri 22 mm, Mukteshwar 18 mm and Pithoragarh 16 mm. Auli, where National Winter Games were in the offing, also experienced snowfall throughout the day, Games official said.
