Gold off 1-week high, eyes on dollar and oil
SINGAPORE, Mar 12 (Reuters) Gold was hardly changed on Monday, holding around 0 a ounce, as it waited for direction from the currency and energy markets.
-- Spot gold was at 0.25/651.00 an ounce by 0034 GMT, versus 9.90/650.65 late in New York on Friday, when it had rallied to a 1-week high of 8 an ounce before a jump in the dollar and a weaker oil triggered profit taking.
-- Investec Australia pegged support at 0 and resistance at 5.
-- Benchmark gold futures for February delivery on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange rose 11 yen per gram to 2,495 yen.
-- The euro hardly changed at .3119 - Silver edged down to .90/12.95 an ounce from .92/12.97 late in New York.
-- Platinum rose to ,190/1,194 an ounce from ,195/1,200 an ounce.
-- Palladium slipped to 9.50/354.50 an ounce from 0/353 late in New York.
