Day temp above normal at several places in the country

Pune, Mar 12 (UNI) Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Orissa, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and of Tamil Nadu.

They were apprecuably to markedly below normal in Punjba, west Rajasthan, in some parts of Haryana and were below normal in Arunachal Pradesh and Kashmir.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Cold wave conditions prevailed in Kashmir. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Tamil Nadu and were below normal in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and of south interior Karnataka. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of Gujrat State, above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, coastal Orissa, Vidarbha and Chattisgarh and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh and of Madhya Maharashtra. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rain or snows are likely to occur at many places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Vidarbha, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the Gujrat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalseema, Karnataka and Kerala.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Marathwada.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan and at a few places in Vidarbha and at isolated places in sub-Himalayan West Benagl and Sikkim, east Rajasthan, Telangana. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
