Surat IT officers grill singer Daler Mehndi

Surat, Mar 11 (UNI) Noted singer Daler Mehndi was questioned by an investigating team of the Income Tax department's Surat division here.

According to sources, Mehndi was here to attend a concert at Sardar Vallabhai National Institute of Technolgy (SVNIT).

He attended the music concert as part of the annual celebrity night organised by SVNIT students last evening.

An investigating team from the IT department approached Mehndi yesterday after the programme was over and questioned him over the amount received by him from the SVNIT as well as the rate of the programme, sources said.

The team questioned him for 15 minutes and a statement was also recorded regarding his payment, sources added.
