Punjab government shifts eight Deputy Commissioners

Chandigarh, Mar 11 (UNI) In the first major reshuffle of the bureaucracy after the SAD-BJP government assumed power, the Punjab Government today shifted 27 civil officers including Excise and Taxation Commissioner Mukul Joshi and eight Deputy Commissioners.

Mr Joshi who was also Principal Secretary Industrial Liason and Financial Commissioner, Excise and Taxation has been made Principal Secretary, Freedom Fighters.

The government also shifted the deputy commissioners of Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Muktsar, Patiala, Mansa, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Moga.

Another significant appointment that has been made is of Mr Darbara Singh Guru, as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Mr Praveen Kumar, ADC Nawanshahar and G S Brar will be the two Additional Principal Secretaries to the CM.

Mr S S Brar who was on deputation with the Centre, will be the new Financial Commissioner, Excise and Taxation. Mr Suresh Kumar, the outgoing Principal Secretary of the CM has been appointed Secretary Power, relieving Chief Secretary Ramesh Inder Singh of the additional charge.

Mr J M Balamurugan will be the new DC of Kapurthala while Dr Arvinder Singh has been appointed DC of Moga. D S Grewal is the new DC of Patiala and Mr V K Ohri is the DC Barnala. Surjit Singh has been appointed DC Mansa and Vikas Garg will be the new DC of Muktsar, the home district of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Sumer Singh Gurjar has been appointed the deputy commissioner of Ludhiana while Mrs Alaknanda Dayal will be the new DC of Fatehgarh Sahib.

Mr Dharamvir will be the new Secretary Revenue while A S Chhatwal will be the Managing Director PIDB, member secretart fiscal reforms and in addition Project Director-cum-Secretary Shahpur Kandi project.Raminder Singh has been appointed Special Secretary, Cooperation.

Ashok Kumar Gupta has been appointed Special Secretary, Education while Rakesh Kumar Verma has been made Special Secretary, Coordination. Mrs Jaspreet Talwar is the Special Secretary, Finance while Dilip Kumar is Special Secretary, Irrigation. Khushi Ram is the Special Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and S K Sharma is the Additional Secretary, Elections.

G S Ghuman has been appointed Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala while Vinay Bhublani is the Joint Director (Admn).

Avtar Chand Sharma is the new RTA, Ferozpur and Ravinder Kumar is the RTA, Jalandhar.
