Gujarat HSC and SSC exams to begin from tomorrow
Ahmedabad, Mar 11 (UNI) As many as 6,69,060 students will take their SSC exams while 3,38,026 students will appears for the HSC exams beginning tomorrow.
Of the total studens appearing for HSC exams, 58,398 are from the Science stream.
Practical examinations of Physics, Chemistry and Biology will begin from April 17.
Board Chairman R K Pathak told mediapersons here today that elaborate arrangements had been made for the smooth conduct of SSC and HSC exams. For this, sensitive centres had been identified and both flying squads and permanent squads will keep a vigil on the examination.
He said that the board's effort was to create conducive atmosphere for students to perform their best in the examinations and had issued instructions to all connected with the examinations that they should take care of students while enforcing rules to check smooth conduct of the examination.
The students will get 15 minutes extra before the start of examination so that they could prepare their answer sheets without losing their exam time, he said.
In order to avoid problems in computerised totalling of papers, he said the examiners have been asked to write marks purely in decimal system.
The education board has introduced a system of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) in subjects like Music, Drawing, Physical Education and Computer from this year and more subjects will be brought under OMR, he added.
