Government is for public, not vice versa: Khanduri

Dehradun, Mar 11 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Major General (retd) B C Khanduri today said the government is meant for the public and not vice versa.

Addressing a felicitation function organised for him at Doiwala constituency, Maj Gen Khanduri said ''Government is for public not vice versa.'' He said addressing public grievances will be his government's priority. He said they would provide a system under which the government will go to the people and added that the public will not have to run to and from government offices for a solution of their problems.

Mr Khanduri said his government would carry out its responsibilites sincerely.

The people should also cooperate and support the government in fighting corruption, he added.

Mr Khanduri said corruption will not be tolerated and stringent action taken against the defaulters. His government will rise to the expectation of the people and realise the hope with which they have voted his party to power, he added.

Among those present on the occasion were BJP State Chief and former CM Bhagat Singh Koshyari, area BJP MLA Trivendra singh Rawat, Protem Speaker Harbansh Kapoor and other MLAs.
