Five opium smugglers nabbed

Chatra, Mar 11 (UNI) Police arrested five smugglers and recovered about 500 grams of opium from Simaria here today.

Police sources said the five were identified as Naresh Saw and Jagdish Saw from Sabono village and Shyamlal Saw, Naresh Saw and Dinesh from Unta village.

They were plucking poppy seeds from an opium field in Ranipokhartola in Sabano village here, sources added.

The field owner, along with two other smugglers, managegd to escape.

Police had registered a case under Narcotics Act and efforts were on to nab the others involved.
