City police grill LET operative

Bangalore, Mar 11 (UNI) The City Crime Branch (CCB) police, who have secured the custody of Tariq Dar to ascertain his involvement in the December 2005 attack on the Indian Institute of Science here, today grilled the alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba operative.

Police sources said Dar, who was brought to the city from Tihar jail yesterday, was presented before a magistrate and remanded to six days police custody.

Dar, a resident of Srinagar, was also the prime accused in the Sarojini Nagar blasts in New Delhi and had alleged links with Imran Bilal Ahmed Kota, another suspected terrorist arrested by the city police with arms and ammunition enroute to the city in a bus from Hospet recently.

The city police brought Dar here for questioning after Imran, during a narco analysis test, named him in the IISc attack, in which an IIT Delhi Professor was gunned down.
