BJP demands Dikshit, Reddy and Maken's resignation

New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today called for the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Union Ministers Jaipal Reddy and Ajay Maken over the Master Plan 2021.

Addressing mediapersons, BJP leaders V K Malhotra and Harshvardhan said the the three -- Ms Dikshit, Mr Reddy and Mr Maken-- had not only failed to save the people of Delhi, from the sealing drive but also deliberately misled them.

Calling the three as ''liars'', Mr Malhotra said the party would press for privilege notice to be issued against both Mr Reddy and Mr Maken because they misled Parliament.

The two BJP leaders also criticised the Budget proposal to impose 12.5 per cent service tax on house owners renting out their premises.

Mr Malhotra expressed anguish that although the Delhi Government had been raising alarms on terrorist threats, there has not yet been any perceptible difference in the security apparatus.

The Delhi Government has been sitting on the file dealing with Afzal's death sentence, he said and added the ploy ''to get Muslim votes for the MCD polls'' will not work.
