29,000 people missing in Delhi since '04

New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) As many as 29,000 people, including 13,000 minors, have gone missing from Delhi during the past three years.

According to officials, of these more than 5,600 people disappeared in 2006 alone and the figure includes 1,300 minors.

Of the 28,966 people who disappeared between 2004-06, 11,654 were females and 12,852 were minors, according to the sources.

In all 5,610 people went missing last year of which 1,322 were minors. Among the were 1,145 girls.

While this figure was nearly half of those reported missing in 2005 and one-third of those in 2004, the number of minors who went missing in 2005 and 2004 were 4,604 and 6,926 respectively.

Of the total 9,373 missing in 2005, 1,559 were females, while in 2004 of the total of 14,983 missing, 2,704 were females.

Also, the number of minor boys, who went missing in 2006, 2005 and 2004 was 1,177, 3,045 and 4,222 respectively.
