Telgi's wife released on health grounds
Pune, Mar 10 (UNI) Shahida Adbul Karim Telgi, wife of the prime accused in the inter-state multi-crore fake stamps paper scam Abdul Karim Telgi was today released from Yerwada jail on health grounds.
MCOCA Judge Chitra Bhedi yesterday granted bail to Shahida on health grounds and a surety of Rs one lakh. The court also ordered her to remain in Bangalore and seek prior permission from the court before leaving the city.
The Court asked defence Lawyer Milind Pawar to intimate it about Shahida's health every three months.
Speaking to mediapersons after her release this evening, Ms Shahida said ''I am innocent and since the past one and half years I am in the Central Jail at Yerwada although I am not involved in my husband's scam. I surrendered before the court after receiving summons and was not arrested. I have great faith in the judicial system.'' She said she was a housewife and it was not necessary for all wives to know what their husbands were doing for a living.
Ms Telgi's daughter Sana and her nephew Irfan Khan were present at the time of her release.
