Namdhari(JD-U) threatens to quit as MLA favouring BJP in Palamu poll

Ranchi, Mar 10 (UNI) The ''friendly fight'' between NDA allies--BJP and JD(U)-- today turned out be real inner party squabble with former Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari threatening to resign as MLA if his party does not withdraw its candidate from by-election to Palamu parliamentary seat in favour of the saffron brigade.

Mr Namdhari set March 14 as the deadline for his party to take the final decision on his demand.

As both the parties kept exchanging rhetorics in the Run-up to the March 29 by-poll in a bid assert their respective grounds in the seat, Mr Namdhari recently made public announcements favouring the BJP's candidate Jawahar Paswan in the fray.

This evening, the veteran MLA from Daltonganj even went a step ahead threatening to resign from the legislator's post rendering the political equarion between the two allies more critical.

State JD (U) president Jaleswar Mahto refused to withdraw Jitendra Kumar Paswan's candidature under any circumstance.

Reacting to senior party leader Namdhari's statement to campaign in favour of the BJP candidate, the party president said disciplinary action would be initiated against him if he ''sticks to his statement''.

Both the BJP and JD(U) candiates filed their nominations today and last date of withdrawal is March 14.
