'Lawyers should adopt social consciousness": Justice Shivraj Patil

Gulbarga, Mar 10 (UNI) National Human Rights Commission acting Chairman Justice Shivaraj Patil today called upon the Lawyers to adopt social consciousness as part of protecting civil rights.

Speaking after inaugurating +National Moot Court Competition+ organised by Sidhartha Law College here, Justice Patil said that all must have social, economic and culture rights. "If social, economic and culture rights do not assume reality, civil right would not assume significance", he opined.

"Social consciousness, Social justice and Social responsibility have to come within in everybody. The Constitution can not provide everything to us+ he added.

Emphasizing the need of +Moot Courts+, he said that the moot courts would provide opportunity to the law students to develop their skills and have practical experience. He pointed out that some lawyers were going abroad to participate in international moot courts to gain practical knowledge.
