J&K children visit Mumbai as part of Operation Sadbhavana

Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) Tweny-four children from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) visited this metropolis to understand various developments taking place in the financial capital of the country.

The children arrived here yesterday on an education tour 'Watan Ki Safar' under operation 'Sadbhavana' of the Indian Army.

The Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of the Indian Army chose 20 boys and four girls from the worst affected areas of Kupwara and Baramullah districts for the tour.

The children visited Haji Ali, Fashion Street, Hanging Garden, Nehru Science Centre, IMS Vikrant and Atria Mall, among other places.

This morning, the group of children met Briagadier Arjun Menon, Commander Mumbai Sub Area, and shared their experiences at a tea hosted for them.

Later, talking to mediapersons, he said when these children go back to their homes, they will recount their experiences to other children and local people and thus spread the message of peace and development.

Brigadier Menon said 'Operation Sadbhavana', under which these visits are organized, includes maintenance of schools, free medical camps, reconstruction and rehabilitation, etc.

The group belonging to various schools in Kupwara is visiting Delhi, Agra, Goa and Pune as part of the tour.

The children will leave for Goa tonight.
