CM wants information on Housing on net by April 17

Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed District Collectors to put all information relating to the prestigious INDIRAMMA housing programme being taken up with budgetary allocation of Rs 5700 crore, on the Internet by April 17.

Briefing newspersons on the day-long District Collectors conference, Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao said 90 per cent of the houses taken up in the first phase in one-third of the villages and Municipal wards were completed.

The Government programmed to construct 20 lakh houses under the programme this year, he said, adding that Dr Reddy had directed the Finance Department to release funds recruitment of additional engineers to tackle with increase in work load.

Dr Reddy expressed concern over delay in land acquisition in some districts for the programme and over-delay in calling tenders for construction of 120 integrated hostels for SCs, STs and BCs.

He wanted the District Collectors, who complained of court cases for the delay, to act swiftly and overcome legal problems to land acquisition.
