Sical sets a new record by handling 54,552 tonnes in 20 hours

Kolkata, Mar 09 (UNI) Sical Logistics Limited (SLL), the provider of integrated multi-modal logistics for bulk and containerised cargo, has established a new handling record for stream coal at the Ennore port.

SLL has set the record by handling a total of 54,552 tonnes within 20 hours 37 minutes at the port yesterday, an official source said here today.

SLL had been operating a coal Terminal at Ennore port since February 2002.

The terminal had achieved a handling limit of 37.83 million tonnes and an overall capacity to handle ten million tonnes annually.

The terminal operated by SLL uses mechanisation of the coal vessels unloading which provides a sustained delivery of 4000 tonnes per hours.

Ennore Port's Managing Director S Velumani congratulated SLL for accomplishing this excellent task and added that Ennore port was all set to cross the 10 million tonnes level of traffic this year ending March, 2007.
