Nithari victims' kins vent anger at Pandhers house
Noida, Mar 9 (UNI) The kin of the Nithari victims today pelted stones at the house of businessman Moninder Singh Pandher, one of the accused in the serial killing case, and burnt him, his servant and other accused Surendra Koli in effigy.
Meanwhile, personnel of the Uttar Pradesh Police, deployed at the site, were unable to halt the surge of the protestors -- led by women -- who broke through the barricades, as they had just one woman constable with them.
The protestors charged that the CBI was trying to save Pandher by framing his Surendra Koli. Order could only be restored when Noida Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Sabharwal assured the protestors of meeting their demand for an audience with the CBI Director.
Today's incident was a restaging on the pre-Holi agitation when also the victims' kin had staged a protest at a distance of 500 metres from the house and burnt the effigy of both the accused after beating it with sticks.
