Lankan woman found dead in Omni bus

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 9 (UNI) A Sri Lankan woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a Rameswaram-bound Omni bus here this morning.

Police said G Saraswathi, hailing from Kodumbai in Sri Lanka, arrived in Tamil Nadu recently to see her relatives who were housed in the Sri Lankan Refugee camp at Rameswaram.

She boarded an Omni bus at Chennai last night for Rameswaram.

When the bus reached here this morning, she was found in an unconscious state by co-passengers.

The woman was immediately taken to a private nursing home, where the doctors declared for brought dead. Later, the body was taken to Government Headquarters hospital here for post-mortem.

The cause of her death would be known only after the autopsy, police added.
