Mahto case: J'khand govt recommends CBI inquiry
Ranchi, Mar 9: The Jharkhand government has recommended CBI inquiry into the killing of Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahto by the CPI(Maoist) ultras at Baguria village near Naxalite-affected Ghatshila in East Singhbhum district on March four. Another party leader and two body guards were also killed in the attack by the ultras.
State Home Secretary Sudhir Tripathy told reporters here the request letter for the CBI probe had been sent to the Centre and would be initiated after receiving approval by the Union government.
The matter was being invetigated by the CID.
Replying to a query Mr Tripathy said review of security arrangements provided to the VIPs was being done and if required they would be given more protection cover.
