Dr A K Jhingan invited to Global Changing Diabetes Leadership Forum
New Delhi, Mar 9(UNI) Noted diabetologist A K Jhingan has been invited to the Global Changing Diabetes Leadership Forum to be held in New York from March 12-14, aimed at redefining healthcare for diabetics and for finding new ways of changing diabetes at the national level.
Former U S President Bill Clinton will deliver the key note address to this prestigious meet supported by the International Diabetes Federation. More than 150 senior representatives of Governments, healthcare institutions, politicians, academia and patient associations have been invited.
The invitees include Prof Martin Silinik, President, International Diabetes Federation, Mr Guy Bernett, Liberal Senator for Tasmania and founding member of the Parliamentary Diabetes Support Group in Australia,and Prof David Matthews, Chairman, Oxford Centre for Diabetes.
More than 230 million people worldwide have diabetes. At the present rate, this number may grow more than 350 million people within 20 years. The United Nations adopted a resolution on December 20 last year calling for fight against diabetes.
