Sangli, Maharashtra, Mar 9 (UNI) In a new twist to the issue of a FIR against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, complainant Panchakshar Mahadev Jangam today registered a case against three BJP leaders, including national spokesperson Prakash Jawadekar, for pressuring him to register the complaint.

Mr Jangam, in his complaint, stated that BJP Sangli District President Rajaram Garud, BJP leader Neeta Kelkar and Mr Jawadekar had kidnapped him, threatened and forced him to register a complaint against Mr Patil, Tasgaon police sources said.

After registering complaint against Mr Patil, these leaders picked him up again and kept in a hotel room at Sangli, he said and urged the police to withdraw his complaint against Mr Patil, sources said.

A case has been registered with the Tasgaon police against the three leaders under sections 341, 342, 363, 365 and 506(34) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), sources added.

Mr Jangam, a Shiv Sena candidate for Panchayat Samiti elections from Dongarsoni constituency of Tasgaon tehsil in Sangli district, in his complaint registered yesterday against Mr Patil and newly joined leader in the NCP Mr Sanjay Patil and another person, had charged them of using pressure tactics to force him to withdraw from the fray to get their own candidate elected.
