Cabinet nod for MoU with PHFI
Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh cabinet today approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) to set up the Indian Institute of Public Health at Hyderabad with an initial capital investment of about Rs 120 crore.
The institute would be one among five such institutes being established by PHFI across the country, to strengthen public health system, conducting training programmes for enhancing capacity of public health functionaries, facilitate design and delivery of effective health programme and research in the areas of public health, official sources said.
Under the MoU, the state government agreed to provide 50 acres of government land in Premavathipet village, Rajendranagar Mandal and Rangareddy district, in addition to meeting 25 per cent of the cost of the project.
