Box "N"depot receives ISO 9001-2000 certificate

Durgapur, Mar 9 (UNI) The Box "N" Depot of Eastern Railway at Andal, 15 kms from here, has been awarded with ISO 9001-2000 certificate for its performance related to Quality Management System (QMS).

Eastern Railway's General Manager Narendra Kumar Goel received the certificate from the representative of British Standard Institute Pvt Ltd at a function here today.

Mr Goel said Box "N" depot achieved "zero" neutral rejection during the last one and half years. He also informed that a total of 978 wagons were modified here till February by providing additional springs.

He also informed that monthly Regular Overhaulling (ROH) target had been enhanced by the Railway Board at 345 wagons per month during 2007-08 from its present target of 280 wagons per month.

There is also planning for acquiring ISO-14000 in future, he added.

Eastern Railway's chief mechanical engineer H C Joshi and Divisional Railway Manager A K Rawal were also present on the occasion.
