Baba Udyanath Maharaj moves ABA, fearing his arrest
Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Spiritual leader Baba Udyanath Maharaj today filed an Anticipatory Bail Application in a local court, after his name allegedly figured during interrogation of four accused persons, arrested in conspiracy to eliminate a builder over Abhyudaya Nagar Redevelopment issue.
Udyanath Maharaj moved the application in the Sessions court.
The four accused--Mohammed Jaffer Sheikh, Aslam Khan, Salim Qureshi and Vijay Vadkar--confessed to the police during the interrogation that they were hired by Maharaj to kill Rashimkant Shah of Vijay Developers.
The four had allegedly arrived to make a bid on the life of Mr Shah, who was vying for a lucrative contract.
A rival group, too, was interested in securing the same contract.
It had allegedly hired the services of the three sharp-shooters, through Vadkar, to eliminate Mr Shah.
The matter will come up for hearing on Monday before Additional Sessions Judge P V Bavkar.
