PDP creating problems for Congress govt in J and K, Farooq Abdullah
Srinagar, Mar 8 (UNI) Alleging that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was creating problems for the Congress-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference (NC) patron Farooq Abdullah said his party has ''no secret undertaking'' with the Congress.
Talking to mediapersons here this afternoon after inaugurating a blood donation camp, the former chief minister said there was an understanding that the PDP would rule the state for the first three years while the Congress for next three years. However, he said, the PDP after completing its term, was acting difficult.
Replying to a question, Dr Abdullah said he do not know how long the alliance between the two coalition partners would last as the PDP was creating problems for the Congress to run the government.
When asked about the role of the NC in case the PDP withdraws from the government, he said an appropriate decision would be taken when such a situation will arise.
To another question, Dr Abdullah said the PDP was playing a political game by raising some issues to create problems for the government keeping in mind the assembly elections scheduled to be held next year.
When asked if his party had any secret understanding with the Congress because of which a NC candidate was elected mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation, he said last year a Congress leader was elected to this post and NC candidate was a deputy.
''This year our party man was elected as the Mayor and the Congress bagged the deputy Mayor post,'' he said and denied any ties with the Congress.
