One killed, 20 injured in jeep-tanker collision

Giridih, Mar 8 (UNI) One person was killed and 20 others were injured, four of them critically, when a jeep collided with a tanker near Paharpur on Giridih-Jamua road, about 12 km from Jharkhand's Giridih district today.

The injured were admitted to Giridih Civil Hospital.

The indicent occurred at 1030 hrs, senior police officer monitoring rescue operation said adding both the vehicle collided so hard that the jeep was almost destroyed.

The identification of the victim was yet to be established, the police said adding that the driver of the tanker fled.
