Karnataka Legislature Session to begin on March 14
Bangalore, Mar 8 (UNI) The session of the two houses of Karnataka legislature has been advanced by two days to March 14, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M P Prakash announced today.
Asked whether the session would discuss the Cauvery issue, he told newsmen that the houses needed to discuss pending bills.
Besides the message from Governor T N Chaturvedi to the Council with regard to holding election to the post of Chairman would also be tabled, he added.
Earlier, both the houses were scheduled to meet from March 16, with Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa scheduled to present the on the opening day.
Asked who would convene the upper house in the absence of Chairman, Mr Prakash said Deputy Chairman Sachidananda Khot had recovered well and he would convene the house. A message from the Council secretariat was likely to be issued, he added.
