J'khand Speaker accused of appointing "his men", CBI probe sought

Ranchi, Mar 8 (UNI) Accusing the Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Alamgir Alam of being responsible in the alleged illegal appointments in the house, senior JD(S) leader Chandrabhushan Dubey today demanded CBI inquiry into the matter.

In a letter sent to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chaterjee, Mr Dubey mentioned that Mr Alam had appointed maximum people, mainly his relatives without following any criteria and ''had tried to supress the matter''.

He also did not spare former Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari alleging more than 80 per cent of people appointed during the former speaker's regime belonged to his constituency Daltonganj.

Mr Dubey threatened to take the matter to the court if the CBI inquiry was not allowed into this case.

A copy of the letter had also been sent to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and several other Union ministers.
