HC sends team after Councillors to check their illegal dairies
New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today sent a team comprising a top MCD official and an Advocate to visit East Delhi to verify the complaint that Councillors Sirish Chaudhury and Ajit Tiwari were running illegal dairies in their localities.
A division bench of Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice H R Malhotra asked the MCD Commissioner A K Nigam, who was present in the court, to depute the area Deputy Commissioner to accompany Advocate Meera Bhatia to go to the area to check facts with the people.
The court appointed a committee comprising MCD Commissioner Nigam, DDA Vice Chairman, NDMC Chairperson and Secretary Animal Husbandary of Delhi Government to look into the matter relating to relocation of about 2655 illegal dairies to Goga dairy in the capital.
The bench stopped the allotment of the plots at Goga Dairy till the final disposal of the PIL which had been pending for seven years.
The court directed the MCD to institute a probe to fix the responsibility on the officials who had allotted eight plots to Pawan Jain of Rohini and several plots to Bharat at Goga Dairy.
The top officials of the MCD, NDMC, DDA and Secretary A&H Department were asked to meet tomorrow morning and submit a report before the court in the afternoon on the vexed issue suggesting solutions.
