Govt to file review petition in SC over temple verdict
Jaipur, Mar 8 (UNI) Rajasthan government will file a review petition in the Supreme Court over its order on the ownership of the famous Kesariyaji temple at Rishabdev in Udaipur district.
Intervening during the Question Hour in the Rajasthan state Assembly, Parliamentary affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore said the government is committed to safegaurd the interest of all sections of people. He said the government's endeavour would be to see that sentiments of all sections of society were respected and remove all obstacles for free worship in the temple.
Earlier speaking on the issue Home Minister Gulab Chand kataria echoed the same feeling and said the government was in favour of finding an amicable solution to the issue. He said the tribals were deeply attached to the temple and their interest would be taken care of.
The Supreme Court order on January 7 this year directing handing over the management of the temple to the Jain community has invited violent protests from the tribals leading to the death of a person in police firing recently.
