Delimitation Commission hears people

Visakhapatnam, Mar 8 (UNI) The Delimitation Commission of India (DCI) led by Chief Election Commissioner of India (ECI) N Gopalaswamy today said the draft report on delimitation of constituencies for Lok Sabha and State Assembly will be submitted in a month's time.

Speaking to mediapersons here after a public hearing, Mr Gopalaswamy said he received tremendous response from the people of Guntur District for suggestions and proposals on delimitation.

The draft report would be published in a month's time and the final decision would be taken by the DCI.

The DCI heard members of the public and senior citizens from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur Districts.

People and peple's representatives came in large numbers from the districts to air their opinions.

Major political parties and leaders were unanimously demanding rewriting the report as the draft was reportedly full of factual errors.
