TMMK activists demand reservation for Muslims
New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Activists of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) today held a protest rally, demanding reservation for Muslims in educational institutions and employment opportunities in Central as well as State government departments.
The TMMK workers were joined by activists of other organisations, including All India United Muslim Morcha and the Dalit Muslim Liberation Movement.
The rally commenced at Ramlila Ground and proceeded towards Jantar Mantar where it was stopped as prohibitory orders are in place.
The demonstrators were demanding implementation of the recommendations of the Sachar Committee report.
