Police took custody of Kantrollu in third murder case

Mumbai, Mar 7 (UNI) Police took the custody of suspected serial killer Ravindra Kantrollu in connection with a third murder case at Maharshi Karve Marg in South Mumbai on December 25, last year.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate M H Belose granted permission to remand custody of the accused person, after extending his judicial custody till March 20 in Azad Maidan murder case.

However, Magistrate Belose rejected their plea for extention of the police custody.

In their remand application, police have mentioned that during the last 14-days police custody, the accused did not reveal anything pertaining to the murder. Police demanded narco analysis test be done again as the blood stained cloths are yet to be recovered and out of seven murders, six bodies are yet to be identified.

Defence advocate Shashi Kunjurman said now police will move the remand application in the court tomorrow.

Earlier, Katrole was arrested on January 22 on charges of house breaking and later he was booked for the murder.

During investigation, police claimed they had recovered blood stained clothes and the weapon, he allegedly used for committing murders, from him. But, now police is saying the clothes are yet to be recovered.

Seven cases of murder using the similar modus operandi were registered in the metropolis between October 2006 and January 2007.
