New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Even though Maoists of Nepal and Indian naxalites have ideological/fraternal links, there was no evidence of any material relationship, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.

Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal in a written reply denied that the weapons surrendered by Maoists were likely to come to the naxalite-affected states of the country.

He said the weapons surrendered by Nepalese Maoists were being monitored round the clock and were being placed in sealed containers in secure places under UN supervision.

Enumerating the steps taken by the government to disband any possible link and put up a check on the supply of weapons, Mr Jaiswal said Indo-Nepal border is being manned by Sashastra Seema Bal and constant vigil is being maintained by them apart from state police forces of the states concerned.
