LG aims 75 per cent growth in colour TV sales

New Delhi, Mar 7: LG Electronics, the official global sponsor of ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, is aiming at a 75 per cent growth in its colour television sales and has lined up a marketing outlay of Rs 50 crore during the World Cup.

''As the official sponsor of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, LG will invest Rs 50 crore in marketing initiatives. We are looking at increasing our colour TV sales by 75 per cent and Flat Panel Display (PDP/LCD) sales by 300 per cent,'' LG Electronics India Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Girish V Rao said.

The company will announce its marketing campaign for the World Cup in a few days, he said.

''In terms of product launches, we have unveiled a limited edition Color TV series which will be available at major cities across India starting March 6 till stocks last,'' he added.

The LG Cricket Series range televisions are available in three models. The televisions are equipped with XD technology, which ensures greater picture clarity and surround sound.

The models have been priced in a range of Rs 17,290-Rs 19,990.

They are available in silver and golden willow colours.
