Deceased people's names to be officially deleted from voters' list

Cooch Behar, Mar 7 (UNI) In a pilot effort, the names of the deceased people will be officially removed from the voters' list in Cooch Behar, State Chief Electoral Officer Debashis Sen has said.

Mr Sen, who visited the district yesterday, said a foraml application must be made by the relatives or family members of the deceased. Accordingly in due time, the gram panchayat or the municipality will remove the names from the list.

He had placed the issue before the District Magistrate who had responded positively, he said.
