Centre releases Rs 53.5 lakh grant-in-aid for Udhampur, Kathua
Jammu, Mar 7 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Rural Development has released grants-in-aid of Rs 53.51 lakh for Kathua and Udhampur district Rural Development Agencies (DRDA) in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said.
It was the second instalment of Central share of funds under the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) during the year 2006-07.
An amount of Rs 15.77 lakh has been granted to Kathua district and Rs 37.74 lakh to Udhampur, which would be utilised as per the approved guidelines of the SGSY, sources said.
Under SGSY, which has 75:25 sharing pattern between the Centre and the state, assistance is given to the poor families living below the poverty line for taking up self-employment.
